The Dalloways--local atmospheric popsters--have reached a new high point: the group sports a fresh new album, new neck ties, and a new tour. With Brit Pop leanings (think Coldplay meets The Smiths meets Belle and Sebastian), they're looking to bring a new slant to the Bakersfield music scene.
"Lush" is how Gerhard Enns, the songwriter, describes Penalty Crusade. "We wanted to create beautiful territories that lead to big, dynamic rock moments."
Live and on the album, the songs incorporate ear-catching elements like spacey-synth, dreamy orchestral arrangements, and ethereal guitars.
You can see The Dalloways live and pick up the new album at their CD Release Party Friday, December 3 at Twisters (1729 19th St. at G Street downtown). Also on the ticket are local rockers Liars and Thieves, Pangolese, and more! Doors open at 8 PM. The cost is $5 with a handbill or $6 without. This is an all ages show. Bring your Dalloways handbill to the merchandise table for additional deals.
